When you are planning a holiday it’s important to research your destination before you book, to make sure it’s right for you, and your health. Getting the travel health advice that you need, like getting travel health insurance, is really important, especially if you have an existing medical condition. We have partnered with Travel Health Pro to bring to you the expert travel health advice and information you need to get started.

Travel Health Pro houses the resources of the National Travel Health Network Centre (NaTHNaC) which was set up by the Department of Health in 2002, with the aim of “protecting the health of British travellers”.

The Safer Tourism Foundation was developed in 2016 by Sharon Ward following the tragic death of her two children, Bobby and Christi Shepherd who died in 2016 from carbon monoxide poisoning while on holiday in Corfu. It is an independent charity working to save lives and prevent serious harm and injury to UK travellers at home, and abroad.

We are honoured to have the pleasure of working alongside them to provide advice and guidance that will help keep you and your loved ones safe while travelling.

Flavours Holidays, based in Edinburgh, has been offering specialist holidays since 1998. What once started as just week-long trips to Lazio, Italy, has now expanded to Tuscany, Sicily, Puglia, Amalfi, Bologna and Venice as well as Andalusia, Spain. Activities include cooking, painting, pilates, photography and learning a new language.

We have teamed up with Flavours Holidays to create video and written content to help their customers to find a travel insurance policy that is suitable for their needs and trip.

Shine Cancer Support is the only charity in the UK to offer exclusive support to young adults in their 20s, 30s and 40s who have been diagnosed with cancer.  Shine has local networks across the UK and run a number of events including Shine Camp, the Great Escape and Shine Connect. The charity also run a number of tailored workshops.

In 2018 we teamed up with Shine and created the Real Life Guide to Travel Insurance. All too often people with a cancer diagnosis are unable to find an affordable travel insurance policy or are refused cover, so Shine spoke with their community and gathered the top travel insurance questions – and we answered them! You can download the guide here.

SimPal, actively work within the cancer community and with those disadvantaged by poor health, or digital poverty, in the UK, to ensure that no one is in the position of losing their access to a mobile phone (and that all important contact and support from others) because they can no longer afford it due to their health or personal circumstances.

The founders of SimPal, are on a mission to provide unique and tailored to support to most vulnerable people in society, and we truly believe every small policy donation counts towards being able to keep people connected, particularly at this time of austerity.
