MEDICATION FOR A STROKE

If you have had a stroke it is likely you will have been prescribed an anticoagulant (blood thinner) such as Warfarin, Rivaroxaban or Clopidogrel. This medication will need to be declared to your travel insurance provider along with any other medications you are prescribed, including those that are just preventative i.e. statins.

Before travelling with medication it is a good idea to check with the Country’s embassy or the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to make sure your medications are legal in your chosen destination.  Carrying banned medication into a country, whether intentional or not, could result in a fine, imprisonment or, in some countries, the death penalty.
